Attachment C Page 1 of B <br /> SIGMA CIRCUITS Inc. , CITATION DIVISION <br /> FIELD SITE <br /> TREATMENT UNIT OPERATION <br /> UNIT 1 <br /> SYSTEM TYPE: CONTINUOUS WITH BATCH TREATMENT FOR SOME <br /> SELECTED WASTESTREAMS <br /> DESCRIPTION (Refer to Unit Block Diagram, Attachment C-1 , <br /> Page 1 ) <br /> Waste Treatment Unit #1 consists of a Continuous Wastewater <br /> Pretreatment System (CWTS) coupled to two accumulation tanks <br /> and a final receiving tank . <br /> Design • <br /> The CWTS consists of two treatment tanks, two flocculation <br /> tanks, two clarifiers, two cascade tanks, a sludge <br /> accumulation/thickening tank , a filter press, and a transfer <br /> tank . <br /> There are also two accumulation tanks, one developer <br /> receiving tank , and the final receiving tank for discharge <br /> to the city sewer. <br /> The entire system is within a bermed area. This berm is six <br /> inches tall by eight inches wide. The entire system rests <br /> at ground level . <br /> A) The incoming Waste Receiver Tank (WRT) is a 100 gallon <br /> capacity polypropylene tank about 4 years old . This <br /> tank is equipped with a pH electrode and controller and <br /> also delivery lines for caustic and metal complexant. <br /> Initial pH adjustment and addition of metal complexant <br /> takes place in this tank . The pH is maintained at 9 by <br /> automatic addition of sodium hydroxide . <br /> B) The second treatment tank is a 1000 gallon capacity <br /> polypropylene tank about 4 years old . This tank is <br /> equipped with a mechanical mixer and a chemical <br /> delivery line. Liquid coagulant is added to this tank . <br />
