This tank is <br /> also equipped with a mechanical mixer and a chemical <br /> delivery line. Liquid flocculent is added to this <br /> tank . <br /> D ) The second flocculation tank is a mild steel tank with <br /> a plastic liner . This tank has a nominal capacity of <br /> 250 gallons and is about 7 years old . This tank <br /> provides slow mechanical mixing of the contents . <br /> Additional liquid flocculent is available to add to <br /> this tank if necessary . <br /> E ) The clarifiers are funnel-shaped , rectangular tanks <br /> with plastic liners and packing . Number 1 clarifier is <br /> steel with a plastic liner and has a nominal capacity <br /> of 5000 gallons. The second clarifier is a lamella <br /> type with a polypropylene shell and has a nominal <br /> capacity of 1500 gallons. <br /> F ) The two cascade tanks are 150 gallon polypropylene <br /> tanks about 7 years old . They are connected between <br /> the two clarifiers and serve as additional settling <br /> tanks. <br /> G ) The Sludge Accumulation/Thickening Tank ( SATT ) is a <br /> 1000 gallon polypropylene tank about 7 years old . It <br /> is equipped with inlet lines from the clarifier <br /> bottoms . A hose reaching to the bottom of the tank is <br /> connected to the filter press pump suction to draw the <br /> sludge up from the tank into the press. <br />
