J <br /> 5.3 Earthquake: <br /> 5.3.1 Employees: <br /> 5.3.1.1 If an earthquake strikes and you are indoors, attempt to take cover under a doorway or desk. <br /> 5.3.1.2 Employees exposed to potential chemical splash should exit the area. <br /> After the earthquake inform lobby by dialing extension 0 if any employee is injured and report his <br /> name and location. <br /> 5.3.1.3 After an earthquake evacuate the facility in accordance with the evacuation plan. <br /> 5.3.2 ERC Responsibilities: <br /> 5.3.2.1 Immediately after the earthquake, evacuate the plant by sounding the General Fire Alarm bells. <br /> 5.3.2.2 In case of fire or hazardous material spill implement the correct procedures. <br /> 5.3.2.3 As soon as the earthquake is over, report to South entrance. <br /> 5.3.2.4 Direct the ERT's as needed. <br /> 5.3.2.5 Set up a team to review the facility for structural and equipment damage. <br /> 5.3.2.6 Do not allow employees to enter the building until the review of the facility is completed and the <br /> facility is deemed safe. <br /> 5.3.3 ERT Responsibilities: <br /> 5.4.3.1 After the earthquake is over, report to South entrance. <br /> 5.4.3.2 Take directions as required from the ERC. <br /> 5.4 Power Outage: <br /> 5.4.1 Employees: <br /> 5.4.1.1 All employees (other than ERT's) should remain in their areas and await instructions. <br /> 5.4.1.2 Employees working with fume hoods should close the sashes. <br /> 5.4.1.3 Employees working with rinse baths should ensure the rinse water flows are turned off. <br /> 5.4.2 ERC Responsibilities: <br /> 5.4.2.1 The ERC will determine the cause and the expected duration of power outage by contacting <br /> PG&E. <br /> 5.4.2.2 If not already done, the ERC will direct maintenance and facility personnel to shut down <br /> equipment in order of priority. <br /> 5.4.2.3 When power is restored, direct maintenance and facility personnel to start-up equipment in order <br /> of priority. <br /> 5.4.3 ERT Responsibilities: <br /> 5.4.3.1 Assist with any equipment shutdown requirements. <br /> 5.4.3.2 Maintain contact with ERC and management on two-way radios. <br /> 5.5 Evacuation plan: <br /> 5.5.1 Employees will evacuate when advised by any of the following methods: <br /> 5.5.1.1 General Fire Alarm Bells. <br /> 5.5.1.2 An ERT"runner"advises them. <br /> 5.5.2 When the evacuation alarm is sounded, employees are to immediately stop working, go to the <br /> nearest available exit as outlined on the evacuation maps in each area and gather at the designated <br /> area. Evacuation route maps are posted throughout the facility. <br /> 5.5.3 Precaution during an evacuation: <br /> 5.5.3.1 Keep calm, think, avoid panic and confusion. <br /> 5.5.3.2 Know all exit locations. Be sure you know the safest and quickest way out of all areas. <br /> 5.5.3.3 Do not lock office doors when vacating the facility. <br /> 5.5.3.4 Do not delay evacuation of the facility for any reason. <br /> 5.5.3.5 Do not run.
