September 4, 2002 <br /> Daljit Sabharwal, Vice President <br /> Viktron California <br /> 1443 Navy Drive <br /> Stockton, CA 95205 <br /> FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION - 1443 NAVY DRIVE <br /> On August 29, 2002, the Stockton Fire Department conducted a fire safety inspection at <br /> Viktron California, 1443 Navy Drive. The inspection disclosed the following fire code <br /> violations that must be corrected immediately: <br /> Exterior Storage Area for Chemical Containers <br /> 1. Properly dispose of old and defective containers that still contain liquids or solids. <br /> All containers must be kept closed. Remove containers where chemicals are <br /> leaking from the container. California Fire Code (CFC), Section 8001.4.7.3 <br /> 2. Label and manifest for removal approximately 20 containers of waste chemicals. <br /> CFC 8001.7 <br /> 3. Secure the compressed gas cylinders inside the cages located in the area <br /> between the shop and the exterior storage area. CFC 7401.6.4 <br /> 4. Provide a 20-foot separation between incompatible chemicals in the storage <br /> area. Separation must be between acids, oxidizers, bases, and formaldehyde <br /> products. Separate the hazardous waste chemical containers from the raw <br /> product containers. Containers of acid, 50% hydrogen peroxide and hazardous <br /> waste can not be stored together.
