September 4, 2002
Daljit Sabharwal, Vice President
Viktron California
1443 Navy Drive
Stockton, CA 95205
FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION - 1443 NAVY DRIVE
On August 29, 2002, the Stockton Fire Department conducted a fire safety inspection at
Viktron California, 1443 Navy Drive. The inspection disclosed the following fire code
violations that must be corrected immediately:
Exterior Storage Area for Chemical Containers
1. Properly dispose of old and defective containers that still contain liquids or solids.
All containers must be kept closed. Remove containers where chemicals are
leaking from the container. California Fire Code (CFC), Section 8001.4.7.3
2. Label and manifest for removal approximately 20 containers of waste chemicals.
CFC 8001.7
3. Secure the compressed gas cylinders inside the cages located in the area
between the shop and the exterior storage area. CFC 7401.6.4
4. Provide a 20-foot separation between incompatible chemicals in the storage
area. Separation must be between acids, oxidizers, bases, and formaldehyde
products. Separate the hazardous waste chemical containers from the raw
product containers. Containers of acid, 50% hydrogen peroxide and hazardous
waste can not be stored together. CFC 8001.11.8
