Revision 0 LODI: TY\PF PROCEDURES
LUSTRE-CAL PF PROCEDURES
PF PROCEDURES - ETCH ROOM ASSOCIATES
PF Liquids or other designated spent chemicals can only be accumulated for a
maximum of 90 days. Before the 90-day period expires, all accumulated chemicals
must either be shipped off-site for recycling/disposal, or placed in the process. All
Associates handling PF solutions, either new or spent shall do so only after adequate
training.
Toward the end of the 90-day period, the addition of"Virgin" (New) PF to the In-
Process "clean" Container [IPC] needs to be coordinated with the processing
(emptying) of the PF Accumulation Containers [PFAC]. Space needs to be available in
the IPC so that one drum of Skim PF Liquids can be returned to the process before the
90-day expiration on the PFAC's.
1. Always wear appropriate PPE.
2. Inspect PFAC for Out of Service Date.
3. Inspect and log In Process "Clean/Reclaimed PF"and PFAC levels prior to
transfer.
4. Skim "Clean/Reclaimed PF"liquid from the PFAC to the IPC.
5. Pump spent "Dirty PF"from PF Processing Tank (Etch Room) to PFAC's.
1. Associate will obtain appropriate PPE: rubber or nitrile gloves, safety glasses and
apron.
2. Associate will inspect PFAC's (in the PF Room) every day at the beginning of
his/her shift, before any PF transfers are made. Various container levels are
determined and recorded on "LOG of PF USE" chart (in the PF Room).
3. Associate will inspect "End of Process" date. Has it arrived?
a. If"yes," tell the [Purchasing Manager] to contact Waste Handler Associate to
exchange PFAC's.
b. Note: when the PFAC's are exchanged, skim PF liquids to IPC's, but do not
pump "Dirty PF" from the Etch Room until empty PFAC's are in place.
4. Associate will inspect "Log of PF Use" and determines from the previous entry,
approximately how many inches of PF are to be skimmed from the PFAC's to the
IPC's.
5: Associate will inspect IPC's to determine if there is adequate capacity (enough
inches of space) to contain the skimmed liquids.
a. The space available in the IPC's needs to be at least 2" more than the amount of
liquid to be skimmed. This will leave only seven gallons of headspace. There is
not much room for error.
b. If there is not enough room to skim all the available material from the PFAC's,
MAKE SURE WHEN YOU SKIM THAT YOU DO NOT OVERFILL THE IPC!
Print Date 10/19/00 Page 1 of 2
