i
hasn't performed as guaranteed, the WWTP produces an excellent quality effluent for subsurface
dispersal.
Because effluent standards for discharging through the subsurface drip system are not as
stringent as for discharging to surface waters, the WWTP may be reconfigured to utilize the
existing tankage at the WWTP to treat wastewater at the RV Park. The tanks will not be aerated
under this scenario, and the media filters and ozone disinfection will.be taken offline.
Two 20,004-gallon dosing tanks will be added to the treatment system if the system is
reconfigured. The dosing tanks will be buried approximately 200 feet south of the treatment
system building, and will provide additional volume to the treatment system for treatment and
flow equalization.
WASTEWATER DISPOSAL
Wastewater will be disposed of by a deep trench, pressure, subsurface dispersal system. The
system will consist of dosing pumps and a series of trenches containing drain pipe and backfilled
with drain rock. Treated wastewater will be pumped from the WWTP to the dispersal trenches
for disposal.
Each trench will be 8 feet deep, 1.5 feet wide, and 100 feet long. The trenches will be arranged in
banks of four trenches each. Based on the application rate required by San Joaquin County
(0.729 gpd/ft ), 12 banks of trenches will be constructed, for a total of 4,800 linear feet of trench.
The required trench sizing calculation is provided in Table 4. The dispersal area locations and
trench details are provided in Figure 4. A distribution valve located at each trench bank will
sequentially distribute treated wastewater to each trench bank.
If the WWTP is reconfigured as discussed in the previous section, two 20,000-gallon tanks will
receive wastewater treated at the WWTP. Wastewater will be pumped from the dosing tanks to
the subsurface dispersion areas.
Location of Land Application Sites
The dispersion trenches will be located at the RV Park golf course. The location of the golf
course is depicted in Figure 1. The land application site is located in Section 8 of Township 1
South, Range 7 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian.
Location of Neighboring Wells
The French Camp potable supply well is located approximately 1,500 feet south of the proposed
subsurface dispersal areas, as shown in Figure 2. The DWR database indicates a well
approximately 0.5 miles south of the proposed subsurface dispersal areas. It is likely that this
well is the French Camp potable supply well. The next nearest well identified by the DWR
database is located over a mile southeast of the proposed dispersal areas.
French Camp—Report of Waste Discharge 4 SAB027102
July 2008 n:sab027102\documents\rwd\frenchcarnprwd.july rev final•doc
