Pond number one (1) has a capacity
seventy-thousand (70,000) gallons, ponds number two and three (2 & 3) have a capacity of
two-hundred-twenty four-thousand (224,000) gallons, and pond number four (4) has a capacity
of two-hundred-ninety-thousand (290,000) gallons. The existing waste water treatment plant was
approved in 1987. Design criteria was based on a maximum of sixty (60) people per day @ 125 gallons
per day.
The plant operation and flow rates are monitored on a daily basis by staff personnel. A daily check by
the staff is conducted to ensure that the plant is operating efficiently. Currently, the facility houses thirty-
six (36)full time residents. The facility is licensed for thirty-six (36) residents.
An on-site inspection was conducted with Steven Schnabel, Maintenance Facility Manager. Per
Mr, Schnabel, the facility has had a significant decrease in water usage due to water conservation
programs that have been implemented with installation of water-saving devices and fixtures for the
operating year 2008.
The following was observed and noted upon inspection of the waste water treatment plant this date:
1.) Upon inspection the gate entry to the ponds was secured and locked. The aerator was running and
no sewage odors were detected. The pond color was a slight brownish hue. The aerator is on a timer
rotation to go on at 4:00 am and off at 4:00 pm. The plant shall continue this operation. Previous pump
turnover was initiated at a minimum of three times per week. As of this date current pump turnover
is a minimum of one time per week due to a decrease in water usage. There have been no significant
changes since the last routine inspection August 27, 2008.
2.) The ponds demonstrated minimal weeds at banks of all locations and minimal erosion was noted.
1
