%■OO %001
Roundup is currently sprayed to control weeds at all perimeter locations of the ponds and the
fenced sewage treatment plant. A perimeter fence surrounds all the ponds and is not easily accessed.
Pond #2 and Pond #3 are currently dried out and it was observed upon inspection that little water
exists in the ponds at this time. Once the float is alarmed in pond #1, waste water is directed into
pond #4 for overflow. There are no aerators in pond #2, or pond #3. Duckweed was observed
in pond #4. The only method by which duckweed can be removed is by mechanical means such as a
raking and or skimming technique. Continue to maintain duckweed and control by mechanical
removal methods.
3.) The waste water plant appears to be operating and functioning within San Joaquin County Sewage
Standards. All areas are well maintained and the staff monitors the plant on a daily basis. The
findings of the inspection were discussed with Steven Schnabel, Facility Maintenance Manager.
Continue to maintain and operate sewage package treatment plant accordingly. Excellent maintenance
and continued surveillance of the water monitoring is having a positive impact on operation and
management of the sewage treatment plant. Erosion control measures have been implemented in
Pond #1. Rip-rap has been placed on the south-facing bank to prevent potential erosion. No erosion
is taking place at this time. Pictures have been taken for the file and a copy of all pictures will be
sent to responsible parties.
4) For the permitting year of 2009, analytical testing and reporting to the Environmental Health
Department (EHD) may be required as part of a condition of the permit. The monitoring frequency
is to be determined at a later date by the EHD. The waste water may be required to be sampled
for the following constituents by an employee of a state certified analytical laboratory and results
submitted to the EHD:
TKN - Includes Nitrates and Ammonia
BOD - Biological Oxygen Demand
TSS - Total Suspended Solids
pH
CBOD— Carbonaceous Biological Oxygen Demand
ff you have any questions or concerns call Lisa Medina, Sr. R.E.H.S., at (209)468-3455.
Mike Huggins, R.E.H.S., R.D.I.
Program Coordinator
Attachments
2
