Box 447
Stockton, CA 95201
SUBJECT: Bi-Annual Inspection conducted at the Wastewater Treatment Plant
Mokelumne Manor: 8960 Walnut Grove Road, Thornton, CA
Permit Number: PT0005624, Facility I.D.: FA0004101
Inspection Date: February 23, 2011
The first bi-annual inspection was conducted at the wastewater treatment plant on
February 23, 2011. The wastewater treatment plant currently services approximately
eighty-one (81) single-family unit dwellings. The plant operations and flow rates are
monitored on a regular basis by staff personnel. A daily monitoring and reporting
program is implemented. Flow rates are monitored and recorded daily on a reporting
log.
The plant receives wastewater from two separate housing communities. Mokelumne
Manor services approximately fifty (50) single-family dwellings, and Sartini services
approximately thirty-one (31) single-family dwellings. The housing units are currently at
their full capacity.
The facility consists of an Imhoff tank with a flow chamber capacity of 820 cubic feet,
and a sludge chamber capacity of 1,390 cubic feet. Evaporation and percolation ponds
have a capacity of 2.98 million gallons and are located across Interstate 5 directly west
of the wastewater treatment plant.
Total wastewater design flow is at 60,000 gallons per day (gpd), with the design flow
based on the Mokelumne Lift station at 25,000(gpd), and the Sartini Lift station at 15,000
(gpd). An additional design flow of 20,000(gpd) was calculated into the formula for future
housing development.
The following was observed and noted upon inspection of the facility this date:
1) Mokelumne and Sartini wastewater lines are gravity flowed and terminate at a
a central distribution box prior to entering the main lift station located
southwest of the housing facilities. The wastewater is directed through a
1
