CHEMICAL SAFETY PROCEDURES <br />Wear Safety Protective Gear when handling chemicals. <br />Never mix chemicals. <br />Is the Chemical Storage area free of debris and other materials? <br />Is the ground clean and dry? <br />Are container tops free of spillage? <br />Is the area free of spills or leaks? <br />Are all of the containers in good condition? <br />Containers free of dents and corrosion, not bulging, cracked or otherwise deteriorating? <br />Are all containers properly closed? <br />Are containers labeled properly? <br />Are the containers compatible with their contents? <br />Are incompatible wastes stored separately? <br />Is there adequate aisle space? <br />Never throw away hazardous waste OR Universal Waste in city trash. <br />No smoking in Chemical Storage or Hazardous Material area. <br />EMPTY CHEMICAL CONTAINERS <br />Empty chemical containers can be thrown away as long as 5 gal or smaller. Must be <br />empty. No liquid can be poured only drips left. If solid cannot be poured only small <br />remnant left. <br />Any empty container left on property, not being thrown away immediately MUST BE <br />LABELED AS EMPTY! <br />NEVER RINSE EMPTY CONTAINER ONTO GROUND OR WASH OUT WITH WATER!!! <br />If small amount of good product left, keep container until used. <br />6
