SEA COR <br /> STANDARD SAFETY HAND AND POWER HAND TOOLS SSP 13 <br /> PROCEDURES <br /> Only nonsparking tools will be used in locations where sources of ignition may cause a fire or explosion. <br /> Power tools will be inspected,tested and determined to be safe for operation pnor to use. Continued <br /> periodic inspections will be made to ensure safe operating condition and proper maintenance. <br /> Electric powered tools must be approved,double insulated or grounded in accordance with 1926.404. <br /> Rotating or reciprocating portable power tools will have a constant pressuree switch that will shut off the <br /> power when the tools is released by the operator A portable power tool may have a lock-on control <br /> provided turn-off can be accomplished by a single motion of the same finger or fingers that turned it on. <br /> Hydraulic fluid used in powered tools will retain its operating characteristics at the most extreme <br /> temperatures to which it will be exposed <br /> Manufacturer's safe operating pressures for hydraulic hoses, valves, pipes, filters, and other fitting will <br /> not be exceeded. <br /> • All hydraulic or pneumatic tools that are used on or around energized lines or equipment will have <br /> nonconducting hoses having adequate strength for the normal operating pressures. <br /> Loose and frayed clothing, loo`e long hair,dangling jewelry,rings, chains, and wnst watches will not be <br /> warn while working with any power tool or machine. <br /> All woodworking tools and machinery will meet applicable requirements of ANSI 01.1,Safety Code for <br /> Woodworking Machinery. <br /> Extension cords. <br /> • Must meet UL or other rating criteria according to OSHA. <br /> • Use will be limited to essential tasks. <br /> • Must be tested for continuity before each use and must be connected to grounded outlets or <br /> ground fault circuit interrupters must be used. <br /> • Must be inspected daily for loose insulation, broken or missing plugs, bared wires, etc. <br /> • Grounding of outlets used for portable tools must be confirmed before use <br /> • Must not be allowed to become tripping or slipping hazards <br /> Must not be used for lifting, tying off, and shall be disconnected by pulling on the plug <br /> 1'x-2 REVEED 102 T <br />
