Denise retrieved the cardboard box from <br />the shelf for further observation (IMG 9531). According to the Banfield Pet Hospital Waste Management Plan, <br />expired non -controlled pharmaceuticals, and hazardous expired controlled pharmaceuticals (included on the list in <br />Appendix A), are to be managed as hazardous waste (see photos IMG 9567-70). <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br />storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are <br />closed when not adding or removing waste.
