MEDICAL WASTE PACKAGING AND LABELING PROTOCOL <br /> Precautions . <br /> 1 . DONOT overfill or compress waste. Lids must fit down tightly. <br /> 2 . Always keep containers secured from unauthorized persons . <br /> 3 . Persons preparing this waste for shipment must follow packaging instructions . <br /> 4 . USE SAFE LIFTINGTECHNIQUES as container can be heavy. <br /> S . Comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding filling, handling, transport, <br /> and tracking of this product. <br /> VI . MEDICAL WASTE STORAGE <br /> All storage of full sharps containers and medical waste at this hospital is indoors in the <br /> maintenance area. Medical waste storage areas are constructed of smooth, easily cleanable <br /> materials that are impervious to liquids. These areas will be regularly maintained in a <br /> sanitary condition.
