5.14 Update the Plan and Implementation Schedule
Following the completion of a Plan, a generator may decide not to implement a select-
ed source reduction measure if the generator determines that the selected measure
is not technically feasible or economically practicable (22 CCR Section 67100.4(c)).
Also, a generator may decide not to implement a selected source reduction measure
if attempts to implement the measure reveal that the measure would result in, or has
resulted in, any of the following:
• An increase in the generation of hazardous waste;
• An increase in the release of hazardous chemicals to other environmental
media;
• Adverse impacts on product quality; and
• A significant increase in the risk of an adverse impact to human health or
= the environment.
The generator's decision to not implement a selected measure does not require any
government approval. However, the generator must amend the Plan within 90 days to
s reflect the decision to not implement a selected measure. The amendment to the Plan
F_ must include proper documentation identifying the rationale for the decision. The
Ln amendment can be in the form of an addendum, dated and signed by the individual
qualified to technically certify the plan, and incorporated into the Plan by reference.
c
s
V
46
