Thornton Rd. Lodi CA 95242 Program: HW SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS (CLASS 1, CLASS II, or MINOR -Notice to Comply) On site to conduct a routine hazardous waste (HW) inspection. 84. The box of universal waste (UW) lamps had a date of 1-22-10. A UW handler shall accumulate UW for no longer than one year from the date the UW was generated, or was received from another UW handler. A UW handler shall be able to demonstrate the length of time that the UW has been accumulated from the date it became a waste or was received. The UW handler may make this demonstration by: (1) Placing the UW in a container and marking or labeling the container with the earliest date that any UW in the container became a waste or was received. (2) Marking or labeling the individual item of UW with the date it became a waste or was received. (3) Maintaining an inventory system on site that identifies the date the UW being accumulated became a waste or was received. (4) Maintaining an inventory system on site that identifies the earliest date that any UW in a group of items of UW or group of containers of UW became a waste or was received; (5) Placing the UW in a specific accumulation area and marking or labeling the area to identify the earliest date that any UW in the area became a waste or was received; or (6) Any other method which clearly demonstrates the length of time that the UW has been accumulated from the date it became a waste or was received. Correct immediately by properly disposing of these UW lamps. Submit a copy of the disposal record to this office by 6-6-11. Continue to ensure that UW is disposed of within one year of becoming UW. Minor -Notice to Comply. Note: the following were corrected during the inspection. 20. The drums of 3 poly drums of HW test water did not have marked the physical state. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: 1. the words "Hazardous Waste" 2. name and address of generator 3. hazardous properties 4. physical state 5. composition (contents) 6. accumulation start date Employee corrected this during the inspection by marking liquid. Continue to ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required information. ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE ($122).
