This project may also
be known as "Wilfie Egg Farms" . Quality Control Inspection, Inc.
was retained by Mr. John Turner, C.E. and Mr. Bill Huang to perform
hydrometer testing of the underlying soils of three holding ponds
and one specified "low area" . This testing is in compliance with
the California Code of Regulations as promulgated in Title 23,
Chapter 15, Article 6.
Sampling was conducted on March 26, 1993 . The samples were
retrieved at depths of 0 to 12 inches with a 12 inch-long bucket
auger and extension handle. The three ponds, "A" , "B", and "C"
contained water, therefore, chest waders were utilized to obtain
samples as far as possible from the shoreline. The fourth area,
referred to as the "low area" contained no holding water. There
is a possibility of this location being used as a pond in the
future, consequently, it was hydrometer tested. A sample location
map is provided at the end of this report.
Each sample from the three ponds and low area were visually
examined in the field according to ASTM D2488 Standard Practice for
-- Description and Identification of Soils (Visual-Manual Procedure) .
All samples from the representative holding ponds were structurally
similar with little change in gradation. Therefore, the retrieved
soil from each holding pond and the low area were composited
individually. Occasional samples contained small amounts of manure
and some of the soils were slightly gleyed, indicating anaerobic
conditions. The soil samples were visually examined again in our
laboratory and were found to be structurally similar in accordance
with ASTM D2488 .
Our reports and letters are submit(ed as the confidential property of our clients for their exclusive use.Any publication or reproduction of statements, conclusions or extracts from or
regarding our reports or letters Is reserved, contingent upon the written authorization of Quality Control Inspection,Inc.
