Carter Road, Escalon, CA 95320 <br /> Facility Operator: Mr.William Huang Mail Address: 1908 Chelwood Way, Modesto, CA 95355 <br /> Phone: (209)577-0840 <br /> Type of Operation: Chicken layer production and Duck for meat production facility <br /> Associated cropland: Approximately 80 acres of walnuts and grapes. <br /> This inspection was conducted in response to a phone call from the Department of Fish and Game <br /> regarding a citizen complaint call they received that indicated there may be a wastewater discharge from <br /> the Wilfie Poultry Farm on 30636 Carter Road, San Joaquin County. Mr. Alan Biedermann, Lead Senior <br /> Registered Environmental Health Specialist, for the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department also responded to the complaint and conducted a separate inspection. <br /> Area Observations and Comments: <br /> The poultry facility is located on the south side of Carter Road just west of Henry Road. There is a small <br /> stream flowing southeast to northwest crossing Henry Road just south of Carter Road. The inspection <br /> noted that the flow of water down-gradient(west at Henry Road) from the poultry facility was light brown <br /> and transparent. The electro conductivity(EC)was 464 micromhos per cubic centimeter(µmhos/cm3). <br /> The flow rate was estimated at approximately 10 gallons per minute. The up-gradient EC of the stream <br /> (on the south side of the facility)was 263µmhos/cm3 was light brown and transparent with a flow rate <br /> slightly greater than were it crossed Henry Road. Farther up gradient the EC was 214 µmhos/cm3, and <br /> was a light brown transparent color. <br /> Facility Observations and Comments: <br /> The inspection of the facility found that there is an irrigation tailwater berm and ditch on the downhill <br /> south side of the facility. There is approximately 80 acres of cropland planted in walnuts to the west and <br /> south of the animal housing area with walnuts and grapes planted on the east side. There are 14 poultry <br /> elevated houses. Five to 6 of the houses have chicken layers, 2 with baby ducks,2 larger ducks, and 4 <br /> Approved: <br />
