The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been addressed for GILS AUTO REPAIR as of January02 , 2020 . Open violations from October 28, 2019 inspection Violation #106 - Failed to train employees on waste handling and emergency procedures . OBSERVATION: At the time of inspection , it could not be demonstrated ( not necessarily documented ) that employees who handle hazardous waste were properly trained . REGULATION GUIDANCE: The business owner must ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling and emergency procedures , relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and emergencies . CORRECTIVE ACTION : Immediately train the employees . Provide proof of training within 30 days to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department ( EHD) for employees whose responsibilities include hazardous waste . ❑ This violation was corrected ❑ This violation will be corrected by ( date) : ❑ Supporting documents included Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation : Violation #115 - Failed to retain copy of manifest or bill of lading for spent lead acid batteries for 3 years . OBSERVATION: Bills of lading for the recycling of lead acid batteries were not found on site . Twenty-two batteries were observed stored on site . REGULATION GUIDANCE: (A) The generator shall use either the manifest or a bill of lading which fulfills the requirements of Title 13 CCR section 1161 , to record the shipment of spent lead-acid storage batteries to a person who stores the batteries or who uses , reuses , recycles or reclaims the batteries or their components . ( B ) The generator shall retain , at the generator' s place of business for at least three years , a legible copy of each manifest or bill of lading which identifies spent lead -acid storage batteries shipped to a person who stores the batteries or who uses , reuses , recycles or reclaims the batteries or their components .
