FW: MSE contact Page 2 of 8
<RPRB@PGE.COM>
Cc: Tyrone Evans <tevans@msegrp.com>; Blair@RSIdrilling.com
Sent: Friday, September 4, 2009 1:35:02 PM
Subject: Re: McDonald Island Well Decommissioning: Plan for 9/8/09
All,
We are set for next Tuesday, assuming we have obtained the OK from Dave or Ralph. Here is the plan:
1)Tyrone will arrive at 7:00 a.m. to confirm flush-mounted markers for all previously decommissioned wells
are still present; he will replace any missing markers or accurately relocate any markers whose locations
have shifted.
2) RSI crew will arrive at 8:00 a.m. and complete decommissioning of MW-11 using a non-sparking saw to
cut off steel conductor casing. Hole will be left open until SJCEHD inspector approves mushroom cap.
3) Biologist(Jack or Sandra)will arrive at 8:30 a.m. to clear burrows in soil mounds around the remaining
four wells to be decommissioned.
4)After a confirmation call to the inspector, he will likely arrive at 9:00 a.m. Tyrone and I will take him to
the marked locations of all previously decommissioned wells so that he can check them off on the permit.
He will also approve the MW-11 mushroom cap, and he will possibly observe and approve full
decommissioning of one or more of the remaining wells.
5) RSI completes decommissioning of the remaining wells. The inspector has verbally approved leveling
the soil mounds without stockpiling before decommissioning the remaining wells, but I will need to obtain
written confirmation of this procedure as a variance to the work plan before RSI completes these wells.
Otherwise, some or all of the soil will be stockpiled at the northeast intersection of the two access roads
and covered pending PG&E disposal a Class III landfill.
If soil does not need to be stockpiled, we anticipate being able to complete the work within a half(five-hour)
day. Otherwise RSI is authorized to complete this work in a full day.
Christine,
Would you please provide phone contact info for Jack and/or Sandra in case they are delayed, so we can
accordingly plan both our time and the inspector's time?
Thanks to all for your cooperation. Please contact me if you have any questions.
A great holiday weekend to you all,
Robert A.
