Public Works <br /> Department Operations and Maintenance Staff, <br /> Projects and Programs Manager, Management <br /> Analyst I/II (Confidential) Position and <br /> ..Eliminate the Management Analyst I/II <br /> position. <br /> SUMMARY: . <br /> State regulations (CCR 66265.16) enforced by the San Joaquin Environmental Health <br /> Department require the. City to update. the job classification for the Public Works <br /> - <br /> Department Operations and Maintenance (O&M) staff positions whose responsibilities <br /> include the transportation, handling, storage and disposal.of hazardous materials and <br /> wastes. <br /> Staff has identified that the.Management Analyst I/11-(Confidential) and the Projects <br /> and Programs Manager should be updated to accurately reflect the duties of these <br /> positions. Additionally, staff is recommending that the Management.Analyst I/II <br /> position be eliminated. . <br /> As required by the Memorandum of Understanding, staff has reviewed and discussed <br /> these recommendations with Service Employee International Union, Local 1021 <br /> (SEIU) and Lathrop Mid-Managers and Confidential Employee's Association (LMCEA). <br /> Both bargaining units have agreed to the City's recommendations.: <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Staff has identified that various job descriptions require updating (Attachment B). <br /> Public Works Positions <br /> Various job descriptions within the Public Works Department Operations and <br /> Maintenance Division require the job descriptions to be updated per State regulations. <br /> The job descriptions for.the following referenced positions require language to be <br /> added that identifies the training and responsibilities that are related to hazardous <br /> materials and wastes. <br /> • Maintenance Worker I/II (SEIU) • Utility Operator I/II (SEIU).. <br /> • Maintenance Services Utility Operator III -(SEIU) <br /> Supervisor (LMCEA) Utility and Streets Maintenance <br /> • Senior Maintenance Worker Superintendent.(LMCEA) <br /> (SEIU) • Water Meter Reader I/II (SEIU) <br />
