CITY MANAGER'S REPORT PAGE 2 <br /> APRIL 9, 2018 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING <br /> UPDATE JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR VARIOUS POSITIONS <br /> Management Analyst I/II <br /> At the February 12, 2018 Council Meeting, Council approved the reclassification of <br /> one Budget Analyst I/II (Confidential) position to a Management Analyst I/II <br /> (Confidential - LMCEA) and the elimination of the Budget Analyst classification. As a <br /> result, the job description was updated to more accurately reflect the responsibilities <br /> of this position. Staff recommends that the Management Analyst I/II (SEIU) position <br /> be eliminated from the Grade/Step table. This position is not currently filled and staff <br /> does not anticipate a need to utilize this classification in the future. <br /> Projects and Program Manager <br /> In order to accurately reflect the current responsibilities and duties of the Projects <br /> and Program Manager Positon, Staff recommends changing the title to Project <br /> Manager (LMCEA), and adjusting the job description accordingly. <br /> The job classifications referenced within this report are represented by SEIU or <br /> LMCEA, as noted. Staff has provided copies of the updated job descriptions to both <br /> of the bargaining units and any recommended changes have been incorporated into <br /> the attached documents presented to Council. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff is recommending the City Council adopt a resolution updating the referenced <br /> job descriptions in order to comply with regulation requirements and to adopt job <br /> descriptions that appropriately reflect staff's current responsibilities. In addition, <br /> Staff recommends eliminating the Management Analyst I/II classification, as Staff <br /> does not anticipate utilizing this classification in the future. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The changes approved by this resolution represent no additional fiscal impact on the <br /> current FY 17-18 budget. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> A.
