SAN J O A Q U I N Environmental Health Department <br /> - CUU N I Y -- - <br /> Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br /> Facility Name: Facility Address : Date: <br /> CQ OF LODI #7014 730 S BECKMAN RD , LODI September 16 , 2020 <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> (CLASS I, CLASS II, or MINOR - Notice to Comply) <br /> Item # Remarks <br /> 106 CCR 66262 . 34 (d ) (2) Failed to train employees on waste handling and emergency procedures . <br /> OBSERVATION : At the time of inspection , it could not be demonstrated ( not necessarily documented ) that <br /> employees who handle hazardous waste were properly trained , based on the following observation : <br /> 1 . When asked how the employees would manage a spill of a hazardous chemical liquid in the facility , Gerardo <br /> Mora , General Manager, stated the liquid would be cleaned up with a rag and he would call his supervisor for <br /> guidance on how to manage or dispose of the used rag . According to the Car Quest California Hazardous Waste <br /> Disposal Guidelines , the employees are supposed to contain all items used to clean a spill in a zippered bag and <br /> place it in an on-site Hazardous Waste box . Note : A Hazardous Waste box was not observed at the time of <br /> inspection . <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE : The business owner must ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper <br /> waste handling and emergency procedures , relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and <br /> emergencies . <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION : Immediately train the employees . Provide proof of training within 30 days to the San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department ( EHD ) for employees whose responsibilities include hazardous <br /> waste . <br /> This is a minor violation . <br /> 303 CCR 66262 . 34 (d )(2) Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems , spill control , or decontamination <br /> equipment. <br /> OBSERVATION : The emergency eyewash station , located around the corner from the restroom , hasn't been <br /> serviced and it's solution hasn 't been changed since 2014 , according to the eyewash station service and inspection <br /> record found above the station . A bottle of eyewash solution expired 2/8/2020 was observed on top of the eyewash <br /> station . Gerardo Mora , General Manager, states he had put in an order to have the eyewash station <br /> maintenance/replaced . <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE : All facility communications or alarm systems , fire protection equipment, spill control <br /> equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required , shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure <br /> its proper operation in time of emergency . <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION : Bring the emergency eyewash station and expired eyewash solution into proper working <br /> order by repair, replacement or testing . Provide a corrective action statement to the San Joaquin County <br />! Environmental Health Department within 30 days . <br /> This is a minor violation . <br /> Overall Inspection Comments : <br /> Notes : <br /> 1 . The facility did not have any hazardous waste disposal records for the last three years at the time of <br /> inspection .
