Dried lacquer was observed on the ground leaking from a 270 gallon tote. In addition, there was lacquer build up around the machine where it is mixed. The manger stated that the waste is usually cleaned up by a mop and disposed of with the ink wash water. Only test results for the ink in the ink wash water were observed during the inspection. If multiple waste streams are combined for disposal, each stream needs to have a complete hazardous waste determination done at the point of generation. The forklifts are serviced by Watts. According to invoice 4304978 (9/17/2018), coolant waste was generated. No disposal records for this waste was observed during the inspection. Per California Health & Safety Code (HSC) 25163, a valid hazardous waste transporter license is required to transport hazardous waste. Immediately make a hazardous waste determination on any waste that is generated through the repair company. If the waste is deemed to be hazardous, manage according to hazardous waste laws and regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how each waste listed above is going to be managed along with documentation showing how the waste determination was made.
