9 e <br /> 01Y Hazardous Waste Management <br /> 9SMIRES. <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTE TOTES <br /> • The lid on the tote must be kept closed at all times. <br /> • Do not mix different types of Hazardous Wastes. <br /> • Each waste item must be put in a self-sealing plastic bag before placing in a tote. No loose items or <br /> liquids should be placed inside the tote. <br /> • Once a tote is full, store it neatly next to the Hazardous Waste Storage Rack. It is very important to <br /> make sure the lid is on tightly and that it is properly labeled. You may stack full totes on top of each <br /> other if they are stable and it is safe to do. Do NGT over stack full totes. <br /> LABELING REQUIREMENTS <br /> • It is required by law that a tote must be labeled if it contains Hazardous Waste. <br /> • The label must have the Accumulation Start Date clearly written on it, this is the date the first waste <br /> was placed in the tote. <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTE ACCUMULATION LABELS <br /> Each Tote must have a Hazardous Waste accumulation label that corresponds with the materials being <br /> added to the tote. <br /> 0 <br /> Aerosols& Corrosive Acids <br /> Oxidizers Universal Corrosrve Toxics& <br /> flammables Waste Acids <br /> State Regulated <br /> Each label must contain the following information: <br /> • Store # <br /> • Store Address <br /> • Accumulation Start Date <br /> • Description of Waste (Check Box, mark all that apply) <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTE DAILY INSPECTION <br /> Each member of Management is responsible for inspecting the Hazardous Waste Accumulation Area a <br /> minimum of one time during their shift. The inspection must focus on these (6) critical areas: <br /> 1)ALL Hazardous Waste is stored properly 4)Tote lid must be closed and locked <br /> 2)Each Tote has Hazardous Waste Accumulation Label 5)All Items with Leaks have absorbent in the Bag <br /> 3)Accumulation Start Date on all Labels 6)Check Area; Ensure it is Clean and Organized <br /> Store Management must maintain a Hazardous Waste Daily Inspection Log. Keep completed logs in the <br /> Hazardous Waste Management Binder for 12 months. <br /> Hazardous Waste Daily Inspection Log is available on 99 Central. <br /> Confidential Information.
