Vernalis Partners, Ltd.
P.O. Box 510
Lathrop, CA 95330
November 3, 2009
Jenni Frase, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 E. Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202
Re: Land Use Plan for the Windeler Ranch Glass Disposal Site(39-AA-0012)
Dear Ms. Frase,
During your site visit on October 28, 2009 you requested a letter detailing the land use
plan for the Glass Disposal Site(the"Site"). Currently, the property is not planted with
any crop, but has been disked for weed control. Per Brown Sand's approved quarry
permit, Brown Sand intends to stockpile overburden in the 300' setback area between the
levee toe and the edge of excavation. The Site is located on a portion of this levee setback
area, and a portion of the (planned)excavation area.
Since the portion of the Site that is in the planned excavation area cannot now be
excavated,Brown Sand intends to use this area to stockpile overburden. This additional
soil will increase the cover over the Site, and should help protect the Site even further
from possible disturbance.
Brown Sand will also place metal fence posts every 100 feet to delineate the edge of the
Site.
In the event there are Federal, State, county or other monies or grants available, we would
be pleased to cooperate with your efforts to"clean close"the Site.
Sincerely,
Michael Brown, Partner
Vernalis Partners, Ltd.
