MANAGING HAZARDOUS WASTE <br /> HANDLING LEAKING HAZARDOUS WASTE <br /> All leaking hazardous waste items should be placed in a gallon size, zip-loc style sealing storage bag <br /> using the additional precautions below. Remember only place one leaking item into a storage bag. <br /> 1. Always wear gloves and goggles, as appropriate. <br /> 2. Collect all leaking materials and place item in a zip-loc style sealing storage bag. <br /> 3. Add Spill Magic or paper towels into the bag to ensure no additional liquid will leak from the bag. <br /> 4. Seal the bag completely. <br /> 5. Place the sealed bag into a second zip-loc style sealing storage bag and add disposable gloves <br /> used for handling the leaking item. <br /> 6. Seal the second bag completely. <br /> 7. Using a permanent marker, write the name of the product, SKU and your initials on the bag. <br /> 8. Place the double-bagged hazardous waste item in the hazardous waste container labeled with the <br /> appropriate category of waste. <br /> 9. Log SKU and Product information onto your Non-Saleable Hazardous Material Checklist. <br /> EXAMPLES: <br /> CORRECT INCORRECT <br /> - <br /> ;•.sarirrNAN <br /> - Leaking item double bagged - Leaking item single bagged <br /> - Spill magic added to bag to absorb - Spill magic is not added to bag <br /> any additional leak - Liquid is free in bag <br /> NOTE: No free liquids can be in the zip-loc style sealing storage bag or containers.
