I and infiltration and of wastewater from commercial and in- <br /> t dustrial processes to the sewerage system shall be subject to <br /> 3 limitations described herein; and that the admission of matter <br /> 4 of a kind or quantity which may damage the system, its functions , <br /> 5 or the quality of its effluent or reclaimed products shall be <br /> 6 prohibited. City and County agrees to specific limitations , <br /> 7 prohibitions, and actions as follows: <br /> 8 A. County agrees to abide by City' s sewer use ordinance <br /> 9 which shall prohibit inflow. Each party shall actively identify <br /> 10 and abate existing inflows within its respective jurisdiction. <br /> 11 B. To minimize infiltration of ground water and storm- <br /> 12 water into its sewerage system through: <br /> 13 1. Proper design, inspection of construction, and testing <br /> 14 of new public sewers, whether constructed by the City, County <br /> 15 or by others. <br /> 16 2. Enactment of an adequate building code or permit <br /> 17 ordinance governing construction of private building sewers , <br /> 18 and enforcement thereof through plan review and inspection. <br /> 19 3 . Maintenance of a program of public sewer inspection <br /> 20 and repair, and the replacement of defective sewers . <br /> 21 C. County agrees to abide by City 's sewer use ordinance <br /> 22 which shall prohibit the discharge of substances which may be <br /> 23 hazardous or which may impair the structures , equipment, functions, <br /> 24 processes or the quality of the end products of the sewerage <br /> 25 system and which shall require control of the quantity, rate of <br /> 26 flow, and concentration of compatible pollutants , of incom- <br /> 27 patible pollutants , and of toxic substances .
