9.0 Personnel i ill Prevention Procedures <br /> CFR 112.7(f) <br /> All new employees receive training regarding this SPCC plan and procedures for preventing <br /> and responding to fuel spills during their initial employment orientation. All employees receive <br /> refresher training regarding the SPCC plan during annual hazmat awareness refresher training. <br /> Training includes a review of the Emergency Action Plan including spill/ release response and <br /> procedures for reporting any spillage or leakage. KNIFE RIVER CORPORATION personnel <br /> also receive instruction on inspection of oil storage tank systems <br /> The designated spill prevention person or his designee is responsible for the following: <br /> ® Instructing facility workers in the operation of equipment in such a manner as to prevent <br /> the occurrence of a fuel spill; <br /> ® Informing facility workers of the applicable pollution laws, rules, and regulations affecting <br /> the facility; <br /> ® Maintaining equipment necessary to prevent spills; <br /> ® Observing, on a regular basis, loading and unloading operations, to determine that the <br /> proper operating procedures are being followed and to afford an opportunity to inspect <br /> equipment under operating conditions; <br /> ® Ensuring that the facility is in compliance with the SPCC plan; <br /> ® Holding spill prevention briefings with facility personnel, with attention given to reviewing <br /> the SPCC plan; <br /> ® Signing and maintaining records of inspections and spills in accordance with this SPCC <br /> plan and maintaining records for a minimum period of three years; <br /> ® Maintaining a complete copy of this SPCC plan at the facility at all times. <br /> 13 <br />
