Pipe hangers and supports: <br /> Use Superstrut, Kin-line, Grinnell, Elcen, OAAE. <br /> a) Support each line individually with hangers. <br /> b) Size hanger properly to fit around bare pipe. <br /> c) Space hangers every 6 feet. <br /> d) All hangers, rods, nuts and other accessories shall be heat treated. <br /> e) All supports shall be securely anchored to the concrete deck or wall <br /> with appropriate "feet" anchored with no less than 3/8" x 3" concrete <br /> anchors. <br /> f) Plumber's tape is not an acceptable support. <br /> PART VI MECHANICAL WORK: <br /> NOTE: Equipment specifications are not intended to exclude any manufacturer's <br /> product which may be appropriate for the performance of the system as <br /> designed. However, the performance, design feature, industry standards and <br /> approvals described herein are the minimum standards for equipment to be bid, <br /> submitted, supplied and installed. <br /> A. General: <br /> Contractor shall provide and install two each, 1,100 gallon, polyethylene <br /> manifold surge tanks in the pool mechanical room and provide both gravity <br /> flow plumbing from two points in the gutter system to the tanks and suction <br /> plumbing from the tanks to the existing recirculation pump. Tanks shall be <br /> at least 60 inches tall to insure the tank access way is above the pool deck. <br /> Use Chemtainer, Cal Tank or equal. <br /> B. Tank construction: Each tank shall be linear polyethylene with seamless <br /> Construction designed to handle contents having a specific gravity of 1.5 <br /> @ 73 degrees F. Install tanks with seismic bracing as drawn on plans. <br /> Each tank shall be fitted with two (2) 6"bulkhead fittings and individually <br /> valved per the plan. One tank shall be fitted with a float switch and <br /> connected to the existing pool controller. The controller shall be <br /> programmed to control the water level in the surge tank via a 11/2" 24 <br /> VAC fill line. Fill line shall be fitted with an approved anti-siphon, back <br /> flow prevention device (see plan). <br /> 7 <br />
