January 21, 2021
BGG Job No. G130.09
Mariposa Road, in Stockton, California. The site is currently vacant and undeveloped. Several
stockpiles of soil, concrete, asphalt, and landscape materials were observed in the northern portion of
the property at the time of our field percolation testing. The relatively flat site has surface elevations
of about 22 to 24 feet above mean sea level (MSL), according to Google Earth mapping. According
to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department, the subject property is zoned R -L,
Low Density Residential.
EXISTING AND PROPOSED SEPTIC SYSTEM USAGE
Existing Septic System
There are currently no septic systems located at the site.
Proposed Septic System
A new 1,200 -gallon septic tank is proposed for the new residence, which will be located north of the
proposed residence.
On -Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were searched for the
Site address. A record for Permit No. SR0082692, dated 10-05-2020, was obtained for the subject
site, which was for a percolation test permit. No other septic permit files were located; hence, it
appears no septic systems are present or have been constructed at the site. A record of the SJCEHD
percolation test permit is contained in Appendix A.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
The general area surrounding the subject site consists primarily of residences to the south,
agricultural crop land to the east, and commercial and industrial use to the north and west. To
estimate the septic system usage in the area, we used professional judgement to identify potential
septic systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the project site. Google
Earth imagery was utilized. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have one septic
system, and sites perceived to be used for commercial or industrial purposes were assumed to have
two septic systems. Using this method, it is estimated that approximately 90 to 100 septic systems
per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
A review of septic permits on file with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
for nearby properties indicated that most septic systems in the area utilize leach lines.
Expected On -Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected usage for the proposed onsite septic system will be from the residents of the
proposed residence. Septic system design should be based on the San Joaquin County On -Site
Wastewater Treatment Systems Standards (2017) or other engineering recommendations.
BAEZ GEOTECHNICAL GROUP Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study - Valdovinos Residence Page 2
