Attending the meeting were Mr. Mike Huggins(EHD),Mr.
Raymond Borges(EHD.),Mr.Larry Godinho(EHD), Mr..Bob Smith(OSn, Joe Souila(OSI),Mr. Rollin
Hall, (NOA&Central Valley Baptist.Church), Mr. Garret Hubbart(NOA),,and David Welch(NOA).
The purpose of the meeting"was;.for,OSI to introduce Orenco waste water treatment system technology to
EHD staff per their request. ,IVIr: Smith presented a one hour talk focusing on recirculating sand filter:
technology which.the`OSI AdvanTex system is based. Since the purpose of the meeting was to introduce
the system;no discussions regarding County acceptance of the treatment system was made. Based on
several conversations with"the EHD staff, a waste water"treatment system'will be necessary for project
approval.-
"There are several.waste water treatment systems available on`the market which range greatly.in capitol
cost, performance, and maintenance. It . our o inion. a he OSI AdvanTex system has several benefits
over other similar systems and is.suitable for your facility: Primary, is that the.system is reliab a and
produces consistent quali effluent accordin to OSI. OSI pumps and components are high quality,
systems which are widely used and available.through out the United State's. The pumps and panels,
which are used-in the AdvanTex system;are the same used in other popular applications." Secondly, the
-AdvanTex system is quite effective in reducing biologic oxygen demand; suspended solids, and is
comparable in nitrogen removal(about 50 to 75 °o;50-60%being typical),compared to other similar
systems. We understand from Mr: Smith that Orenco AdvanTex residential treatment systems are being
used along'the Sierra Nevada foothill comrrmuhities, and number in the"1,000's there.
Since the meeting; we have submitted the addendum nitrate loading-study(final draft)to Mr. Smith for
an evaluation. Mr. Smith has determined, based on the Phase iI uses proposed;the following major
components would be required to"configure an Advantex system for the'church facility. A.complete parts
list and estimated costs-are attached to,this letter:
