nsta I I ati(7, Guide: AdvanTex'w-A °"reatment Systems
C) Step 4E: Water Test Tank and Riser Connections
After the adhesive has hardened, fill the tank with clean
water all the way up into the riser, to a level of 1" above
the adhesive joint, to test both the watertightness of the
tank and the riser joint. Do not allow the water level to rise
more than 3" into the riser because structural damage to
the tank may occur. The inlet pipe into the tank needs to be
"turned up" to allow the tank to be filled to the required
level.
CAUTION: Before filling tank, check the tank manufacturer's
guidelines for filling. Some tank manufacturers require a
partial or complete backfill before the tank is filled.
Step 5t
Handle
Installing Recirculating Splitter Valve
Step 5A: Understanding RSV Operation
The RSV automatically controls the AdvanTex Filtrate
return flow and the liquid level within the Processing Tank.
n'During periods of no flow, 100% of the filtrate returns to .'
the tank. As raw sewage entering the Processing Tank rais-
es the liquid level, some of the filtrate is diverted to the
discharge line.
Step 5B: Positioning RSV within Tank Opening
RSV Bracket
For systems operating in Mode 1, the RSV is installed in ,may
- .„ - Split-Flow Tee
the riser over the tank's second compartment (or inlet end
of the second tank in a 2-tank installation). The RSV
should be installed between the baffle wall and the pumpStinger Pipe
system to help ensure mixing of the return effluent. '
For systems operating in Mode 3, the RSV (duckbill
model) is installed in the riser over the tank's inlet. Note
that the RSV must be installed so as not to interfere with
the inlet tee.
RSV Cage
I
Detail of RSV components.
