Soil Suitability / Nitrate Loading Study
Cherokee Memorial Park Vineyard Chapel Addition Ŷ Lodi, California
March 5, 2021 Ŷ Terracon Project No. NA207102
Responsive Ŷ Resourceful Ŷ Reliable 13
1.5 Soil Profile and Geologic Information
The site is depicted on the Geologic Map of California 2010, as within generalized quaternary
Pleistocene and Holocene deposits which are comprised primarily of unconsolidated and semi-
consolidated alluvium, lake, playa, and terrace deposits.
Terracon reviewed the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources
Conversation Service (NRCS)Web Soil Survey and USDA Soil Survey of San Joaquin County
(1992) for information regarding soil properties. Based on information obtained from the USDA
sources, site soils consist of Tokay-urban land complex and Tokay fine sandy loam. Tokay-urban
land complex consists of well drained soils with 0 to 2 percent slopes. Parent material consists of
alluvium derived from granitic rock sources. Typical soil profiles consist of 0 to 60 inches fine
sandy loam. Tokay fine sandy loam consists of well drained soils with 0 to 2 percent slopes.
Parent material consists of alluvium derived from granitic rock sources. Typical soil profiles
consist of 0 to 45 inches fine sandy loam and 45 to 60 inches sandy loam.
1.5.1 Soil Boring Locations
Soil boring information and percolation test results from the prior 2015 SSS (Section 1.1), was
utilized for this report. The proposed leach field for the Vineyard Chapel addition is located east
of the existing building and south of the existing leachfield (Exhibit 2). In 2014, two percolation
test borings P1 and P2 were advanced in the vicinity of the proposed leach fields.
1.5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
No additional borings were provided; however, in 2014 two soil borings (P1 and P2) were
advanced with a 4-inch diameter hand auger to 3.05 and 3.07 feet bgs.
1.5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
The table below is based on the prior soil suitability report from July of 2015 (Section 1.1).
Table 7.
Summary of Soil Lithology
Boring Depth Interval (ft)Soil Type Unified Soil
Classification
P1 0-3.05 Silty Sand SM
P2 0-3.07 Silty Sand SM
