Soil Suitability&Nitrate Loading Evaluation CTE Job #25-1084G
New Septic Leech Lines
21850 East Liberty Rd
Clements, California
January 30, 2021 Paize
5.0 FIELD INVESTIGATION
A preliminary field investigation, conducted on January 5, 2020, included site reconnaissance,
mapping of surficial site deposits, and the excavation of two percolation test holes for septic leach
lines and one percolation test hole for a proposed storm retention basin (designated "P-1", "P-2",
and "P-3" respectively) to a maximum depth of 36 inches. Percolation test holes logs, percolation
data, and test results are attached as Appendix-A. The percolation test location is shown on the
"Exploration Map", attached as Figure-2.
The test holes for this study were drilled using a 4-inch diameter solid stem auger. The maximum
explored depth was 3.0± feet below existing ground surface (begs). Soils were logged in the field
by a CTE Field Geologist and were classified according to the Unified Soil Classification System
(ASTM D2487)based on field testing, and visual observations.
6.0 GROUNDWATER
No free groundwater was encountered within the percolation test hole performed for our
evaluation. Based on information contained on the California SGMA Data Viewer site
(https://sg_ma.water.ca.gov/web ig s/?appid=SGMADataViewer#gwlevels), ground water flows
toward the Northeast and historic high groundwater level is shown to be 121 feet begs (Spring
2020). The 121-foot groundwater level is consistent with historic high (1983 and 1999)
groundwater levels shown in the "San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department Onsite
Wastewater Treatment Systems Local Agency Management Program"publication.
7.0 SOIL PROFILE
Published (USDA, Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California, dated October 1992) mapping
indicates soils at the site consists of"Pentz Sandy Loam" described as sandy loam underlain by
bedrock in the Northwest area of the site, "Kaseberg Fine Sandy Loam" in the Southwest area of
the site and is described as a fine sandy loam underlain by weathered bedrock, and"Pardee Cobbly
,INC-
