Soil Remediation Plan <br />Thornton, California <br />July 22, 1992 <br />Page 4 <br />Soil Remediation <br />Two 2:1 composite samples will be collected from the excavated hydrocarbon impacted soils for <br />characterization. If the volatile organic compounds (VOC) of the soil register less than 50 ppm, <br />the soil will be aerated under exemption of the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control <br />District, San Joaquin County Zone (APCD). <br />Should the VOC content of the soil register greater than 50 ppm, the impacted soil will be <br />transported off the site to an appropriate landfill or aerated under permit from the APCD. <br />Report Preparation <br />Upon completion of field activities and receipt of laboratory analysis, RESNA will summarize <br />field methods and data collected during the remediation/excavation in a technical report to be <br />submitted to the PHS/EHD. <br />Field work proposed in this workplan will be performed according to the Site's Quality <br />Assurance/Quality Control guidelines and the site specific Health and Safety Plan on file with <br />PHS/EHD. <br />GPLRC792.TJL <br />
