Attached, please find
the Standard Observation inspection, as required by Section 4a.
The facility was inspected September 4, 2007. Two areas of needing improvement were noted:
protection of the vegetative layer that was disturbed when installing a fire break to fight the grass
fire of late July 2007 and repair of the disturbed areas of the drainage ditch along the Northern
access road of the landfill. The drainage ditch was disturbed during the delineation of the extent
of refuse and closure cap this past season (Figure 1).
The vegetative layer was protected by the placement of anti -erosion mesh on the disturbed soil
(Photo 1).
The drainage ditch was restored by incorporation of bentonite in the soil where excavations
occurred, compaction, and placement of new anti -erosion mesh (Photos 2, 3).
This work was complete as of October 31, 2007.
If you have any questions, or if you wish further information, please call Joyesh Chandra at
(209) 468-8504.
Sin ly,
W.
