Revised Soil Gas Sampling er VVorkplan September 8,2017
CA ARNG, FMS #24, Stockton, CA Page 8
avoid loss or damage, the chain of custody forms should be placed into a sealable bag and
attached to the inside of the shipping container.
SOIL GAS PROBE DESTRUCTION
The well destruction procedures detailed in the California Well Standards (Bulletins 74-81 and
74-90) will be followed, along with SJCEHD requirements. The SJCEHD reportedly requires
wells to be over drilled and all well material to be removed. After sampling has been completed,
and upon approval by the CVRWQCB, the soil vapor wells will be decommissioned by over
drilling and backfill with cement grout and completed to match the surrounding grade.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Investigation derived waste (IDW) generated during the well installation and over drill
decommissioning will include soil cuttings and well materials. All IDW will be segregated and
containerized in separate United Nations/Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved steel
drums and temporarily stored at a location agreed upon by CA ARNG onsite personnel. Each
drum will be sealed and clearly labeled. Laboratory analyses will be used to complete the waste
profiles submitted to an approved disposal facility. Upon disposal facility approval of the waste
profiles, the drums will be transported off site by a licensed waste hauler and disposed of at the
approved, licensed disposal facility. A waste manifest will be provided in a subsequent report.
REPORTING
A Soil Gas Sampling Report will be prepared and submitted to the CA ARNG and CVRWQCB.
This report will describe all field activities associated with the soil gas sampling. The report will
include all pertinent documentation (such as permits, tabulated analytical results, site maps,
waste-disposal documentation, laboratory reports, and chain-of-custody documentation) and will
be reviewed and signed by the California PG who supervised the project. A vapor intrusion risk
assessment is not included with this project.
Sincerely,
/j/--
UtLe
Steve Elliott, PG
Senior Geologist
cc: MAJ Sonya G.
