Several volatile organic <br />compounds were detected in your drinking water sampled on April 8, <br />1993. This letter is to serve as official Notice to Abate for the <br />following compounds: <br />Compound name Results MCL <br />1,1-Dichloroethane 69 ppb 5 ppb <br />1,2-Dichloroethane 1 ppb .5 ppb <br />1,1-Dichloroethylene 230 ppb 6 ppb <br />Trichloroethylene 12 ppb 5 ppb <br />The above compounds were above the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) <br />as provided in Section 64444.5, Table 5, Title 22, California Code <br />of Regulations. <br />Under Article 7, Section 64463.1, 64463.2, and 64464.1 of Chapter <br />15, Title 22, C.C.R. public notification is required if a water <br />system exceeds a primary drinking water standard. You are <br />therefore, required to provide notification as addressed in Title <br />22, C.C.R. This Division asks that the notice be in writing to <br />your consumers and a copy be provided to this Division. <br />As an interim measure you are asked to provide bottle water until <br />an approved water source is available. You are to notify this <br />Division within 30 days of the corrective action you will be taking <br />to abate this violation. <br />The following alternatives are given for your consideration: <br />Connect to another approved public water system if available <br />under clearance from this Division. <br />Provide treatment to reduce the contaminant level to below the <br />Maximum Contaminant Level. <br />A Division of San Joaquin couniy He-a.ith C..u-c Services
