30 October 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0975
probe boring location is illustrated in Figure 2. Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals
starting at five feet below surface grade (bsg) to a depth of approximately 25 feet bsg.
Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in accordance with EPA Method 8260.
EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
Prior to use, all tools used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after
being washed with a solution of Alconox. All probing rods will be cleaned prior to advancement at
each probe boring location.
BORING ABANDONMENT
All soil borings will be permanently sealed to prevent vertical migration of potential contaminants.
Soil borings shall be abandoned by backfilling with a portland cement slurry from the total depth to
surface grade. The EHD will be notified for grout inspection at least 72 hours prior to conducting
grouting procedures.
REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a brief report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed and the results of the laboratory analyses. Conclusions, applicable recommendations,
maps and cross-sections will be included in the report, as well as copies of the laboratory reports,
testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of
custody documentation. The report will be in a format acceptable to the EHD, and will be reviewed
and signed by a California Registered Geologist.
Advanced GeoE n v i ro !Inlet) ta I, I lie.
