West Lane, Stockton <br />Septic tanks are not allowed to be inactive. If the septic tank is not proposed to <br />be reactivated to daily use, it must be properly destroyed under inspection and a <br />permit issued by EHD. If the laboratory data indicates that the soil beneath the <br />septic tank has not been impacted by the chemicals introduced into the septic <br />system, EHD will require you to submit an "Onsite Waste Water Treatment <br />System Permit" application form #42-02-001 and fee and properly destroy the <br />septic tank. <br />If the soil has been impacted by chemicals from the septic system, additional soil <br />investigation to determine the lateral and vertical extents of the impact may be <br />required. Additionally, a ground water investigation may be required. EHD will <br />review the data your consultant submits in the report of findings and advise you <br />of our evaluation. <br />A boring permit is required to install the borings.
