Field Activities
The Phase II investigation of the Site will include surface soil sampling, soil boring
advancement for both soil and grab groundwater sampling, and groundwater sampling
from the four existing groundwater monitoring wells located on the Site that are part of
the Koppel site's groundwater monitoring program. Table 1 below presents a summary
of the sampling locations, sample type, analyses and rationale for each area of
investigation. Figure 1 shows the proposed locations.
Table 1. These previous
activities have the potential to leak
petroleum hydrocarbons into the
surrounding soils. This sampling will
assess if the soils have been
impacted by the historical railroad
loading activities. Note that the
locations as approximate. Should
visible impacted soil be identified
during the sampling event, the
impacted area will be sampled.
P:11350001135531-USBDG Phase II InvesTinal DocumentsIFinal REG Phase II Work Plan 052808.doc\ch
