i •
I . QUANTITIES FOR SITE FILL PLANNING:
Following are waste quantities used for site construction planning . These
quantities are derived from past gate cubic yard quantities. A compaction
factor of 0.35 has been derived for the site using the site volume consumed
from late 1985 until April 1987 and dividing by the uncompacted waste gate
quantities for the same period . Using this factor future site space
consumption can be planned as shown below.
Incoming uncompacted waste quantities in cubic yards:
Assume 50,000 CY. /mo . (Nov to Feb )
Assume 60,000 CY. /mo . (Mar to Oct )
Calculated current compaction factor for the site is 0.35 using estimated
volume remaining in late 1985 until April 1987 (spreadsheet "Harnvol2) to
figure current sorage remaining .
Therefore the following compacted volumes for .vaste are used assuming an
80'/./20:: split for commercial and public waste volumes.
Consumption of landfill space including daily cove7 :
Mor.-hs Commercial ICY/moa Public CCY/mol Total/mo .
(per day ) ( per day ) (per day )
Nov - =eb 14 , 000 3,500 17,500
( 467 ) ( 120 ) (583)
Mar - Oct 16, 800 4,200 21 ,000
(560) ( 140 ) (700)
II . Operations phasing for the primary site is shown below. Areas for
completion are numbered in chronological order and are shown on the attached
map . Numbers followed by a "W" indicate an area tnat will be filled during
winter months. Typically , the commercial and public users will be fill - ng in
the same location . The volumes of compacted waste and cover material and
approximate dates of completion are shown in the remaining columns.
The schedule shown below indicates that a minimum 1% slope will be completed
over the entire site by December 1988 and that a minimum 3% slope for the
entire site which corresponds to final closure of the primary site will be
completed in April of 1990. It should be noted that these completion dates
show an earlier completion date than the closure plan for the site because
actual waste volumes to date exceed those projected in the closure plan. The
actual completion dates for construction shown below may be fine tuned as
completion occurs based on possible changes in compaction factor or incoming
