Pre-Winter Preparation for -2- December 11, 1984
Harney Lane Sanitary
Landfill Permit 39-AA-003
The wet weather area covers approximately 150,000 square feet. As of
November 1, 1984, there is about 50,000 cubic yards of space available in
this area, which will provide landfill capacity for about 3 months. It
is anticipated that this area will be used only 50% of the time during the
winter operation.
The dry weather area covers approximtely 110,000 square feet and will pro-
vide an addtitional 50,000 cubic yards of volume. This will provide suf-
ficient space for about 3 months' landfill operations, and will be utilized
as weather permits. It is anticipated that this area can be used
approximately 50% of the time.
Utilizing a combination of the wet weather area and the dry weather area will
provide sufficient landfill space to last through the winter months.
ACCESS ROADS AND UNLOADING PADS:
Access roads to the wet weather area have been graveled and oiled. Access
roads are as shown on the attached map.
The unloading pad is in an area which was previously used for mixing road
materials. That pad has sufficient base material to support truck traffic.
It has been oiled and sanded, and provides good access for wet weather
operations. Location of the unloading pad is as indicated on the attached
map.
COVER MATERIALS STORAGE AREA:
Cover material has been stored in stockpile 1 to be used during wet
weather operations . This area is located between grids 28 + 00 north and
31 + 00 north and between 17 + 00 east and 20 + 00 east, as indicated on
the attached map. There is approximately 9,000 cubic yards of cover
material in this stockpile, which is sufficient to provide daily cover for
3 months of winter operations.
Stockpile number 2 is located between 27 + 50 north and 30 + 00 north, and
between 25 + 00 east and 29 + 00 east, as indicated on the attached map.
Approximately 55,000 cubic yards of cover material is stored in this area.
This is sufficient to provide daily cover for over 10 months of landfill
operations.
RESERVE ROAD MATERIALS STORAGE AREA:
The access road to the wet weather area and the dry weather area has a suf-
ficient base such that an on-site storage of reserve road material is not
necessary.
