LAE OF CALIFORNIA GEORGE DEUKMEJIAN,Governor
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD-
CENTRAL VALLEY REGION
3201 S STREET
SACRAMENTO,CALIFORNIA 95816-7090
PHONE: (916)445-0270
21 April 1986
Mr. Tom Horton, Solid Waste Manager
San Joaquin County Department of Public Works
Post Office Box 1810
Stockton, CA 95201
REVIEW OF HARNEY LANE LANDFILL PROPOSED GROUND WATER MONITORING PROGRAM, SAN
JOAQUIN COUNTY
I have reviewed the proposed ground water monitoring program for the Harmy Lane
Landfill and find it generally acceptable. I have enclosed a memorandum which
identifies my concerns.
My major concern is that this program was designed using information about a
deeper ground water stratum than the one you' ll be monitoring. The logs from
two nearby wells indicate that a water-bearing stratum may exist aVdepths
between 125 and 165 feet.
Please submit your responses to my comments in the enclosed memorandum by 15 May
1986. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call"'me at (916)
324-8890.
?ME11KMAN
Project Engineer
JLE:jec
Enclosures
