Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Re: INFECTIOUS WASTES - HARNEY LANE SANITARY LANDFILL
Dear Mr. Miller:
Infectious Waste Regulations, (Title 22, chapter 30, article 13 of the California
Administrative Code) require that operators of landfills that receive infectious
waste must have an approved plan for handling that waste.
During recent inspections of the Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill., it was noted
that an infectious waste plan has not been submitted.
Please be advised that the Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill does not accept
infectious waste as defined in the above referenced code. Therefore, the
County is not required to submit an Infectious Waste Handling Plan.
The County will take steps thru proper signing and inspection of loads to
insure that infectious waste is not disposed at the Harney Lane Landfill.
Very truly yours,
Tom Horton
Solid Waste Manager
TH:nc
c: Henry M.
