Box 1810
Stockton, California 95201
Re: 5 YEAR PERMIT REVIEW - Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill,
39-AA-003, San Joaquin County
The Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill solid waste facility located on
Harney Lane, Lodi, California has been reviewed by San Joaquin
County Public Health Services, Division of Environmental Health
(LEA) in accordance with the California Code of Regulations, Title
14, Chapter 5, Article 3, Section 18213 .
The Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill will be closing within the next
year, no later than October 1, 1991. If the new North County
Sanitary Landfill opens before October 1, 1991 the Harney Lane
Sanitary Landfill will close sooner than October 1, 1991.
Due to the short time the landfill will stay open it will not be
practical to begin a new solid waste facility permit process. An
agreement has been reached between the LEA, operator, and the staff
of the California Integrated Waste Management Board that time and
resources should be spent on the closure activities of this
facility.
A Notice and Order for this facility will control operations until
closure. A compliance agreement dated November 13, 1990, between
the o erato -and the LEA will also address this issue.
tn valinisti, Director
Environmental Health Division
RV/EP: lm
cc: Martha Vazques, CIWMB
HL1
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
