CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSUMPTIONS
This Proposal and the attached cost estimate are based on the following assumptions and
responsibilities:
JBH Development will assist Kleinfelder in obtaining access to the site and owner
authorization for the proposed sampling.
• Adequate workspace and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance
soil probes and collect samples at the proposed locations. If the hand auger cannot be
advanced, alternative drilling locations or sampling methods should be investigated.
• The shallow borings will be advanced using a hand auger. If difficult augering conditions
are encountered, alternative sampling methods may be necessary.
• Soil and rinseate water generated during the drilling and sampling will be the
responsibility of the client. The soil and water will be contained in a 5 gallon buckets and
left on site. Disposal or remediation options for the soil apd water can be assessed once
analytical results have been received. Kleinfelder is prepared to assist the client and to
remediate or dispose of the soil generated, if requested.
• This Proposal is based on the presumption that the client, owner or USA will clearly
mark utilities and will provide any and all available survey maps or other data to
determine the location of existing structures, underground utilities and services. JBH
Development should be aware that penetrating the site's surface is inherently risky. It is
impossible to determine with certainty the precise location of all structures, which may be
buried in the ground. Kleinfelder's fee is not adequate to compensate for both the
performance of the services and the assumption of risk of damage to such structures.
Disruption of utilities or damage to underground structures will be the responsibility of
JBH Development. Services rendered by Kleinfelder to repair them will be billed at cost.
Underground Service Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2503 provides a partial location service
free of charge for major utility lines. It is important that JBH Development understand
that subsurface buried under private property will not be marked by the public utility
companies contacted by USA. The drilling company will make contact with USA for a
site visit.
20-YP1-642/2011PI93 Page 4 of 7
Copyright 2001,Kleinfelder,Inc. July 16,2001
