Proposed wells MW-27A and MW-28A will be completed in above-ground monuments set in a
concrete pad that are surrounded by bollards. To accommodate operations at the site, wells
MW-25A, MW-26A and MW-29A will be completed with a flush-mounted traffic-rated well box and
the remaining annular space will be backfilled with the concrete for the well pad. All wells will be
secured with a locking cap. The proposed well construction details are shown on Figure 9.
6.5.1 Well Development
In accordance with the California Well Standards(Department of Water Resources[DWR], 1991),
the wells will be developed a minimum of 48 hours after installation by a combination of bailing,
surging, and pumping. Total well depth, DTW, temperature, pH, specific conductance, dissolved
oxygen, and ORP will be measured prior to the start and periodically during development.
Development will continue until a minimum of five casing volumes of water have been removed
and water quality parameters have stabilized.
6.5.2 Well Surveying
The location, ground surface elevation, and top of casing elevation will be measured by a
California-licensed Professional Land Surveyor in accordance with the requirements for the State
Water Resources Control Board Geotracker database.
6.6 Decontamination and Waste Management
Down-hole drilling equipment will be decontaminated prior to drilling each well using high-
pressure cleaning equipment. The decontamination rinsate, well development water, and soil
cuttings generated during drilling will be placed by waste stream into separate 55-gallon United
States Department of Transportation approved drums and labeled, dated, and staged on site prior
to disposal at an appropriate off-site facility.
7.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING PROGRAM
7.1 Schedule and Frequency
Baseline groundwater samples will be collected from the designated wells prior to the injection
event. Post-injection samples will be collected monthly for six months and then quarterly for
another year. The pilot test analytical parameters will then be incorporated into the exiting semi-
annual Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP) for two years.
7.2 Well Designations
In accordance with RWQCB General Order No. R5-2015-0012, the following wells have been
designated for the pilot test at the north pond.
• Background wells: MW-22A and MW-29A
• Performance monitoring wells: MW-2A, MW-14A, and MW-25A through MW-28A
• Compliance well: MW-8
CPS Stockton, California 6 / ,
Pilot Test Work Plan ab&
