5.0 SITE HAZARD ANALYSIS <br /> 5.1 Primary Health Hazards <br /> The proposed scope of work described in the Work Plan and all available analytical information <br /> regarding hazardous substances previously identified at the site will be used to outline the <br /> anticipated health hazards. The known hazardous materials at this site consist of gasoline and <br /> associated compounds which leaked into the soil and ground water. <br /> The primary health hazards associated with exposure are provide below in this project plan. The <br /> associated permissible exposure limits (PEL), if available, will also be included. The PEL will <br /> be defined by state and federal regulations. The PELs are based on research guidelines from the <br /> National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the American Conference of <br /> Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH). <br /> Table 1 lists the PEL's for the hazardous substances which may be encountered during this <br /> project, based on California regulations. <br /> American Geological Services, Inc. <br /> 4 <br />
