' Section 1
• INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE
The following report presents a work plan for a soil and, if warranted, ground water investigation at Pacific
Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E's) Lathrop Dehydrator Station in San Joaquin County, California. The
purpose of this proposed investigation is to more further define the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons in subsurface soils and, if warranted, in ground water in the area where the former reboiler
unit was located. An assessment will be made of the distribution and concentrations of any hydrocarbon
and/or glycol products in the soils and ground water beneath the site.
This work plan consists of a brief facility description, a summary of previous field and analytical results, a
description of soil conditions at the site, and a presentation of the proposed soil and ground water
investigation.
462891/42/PPU26 1-1
